Industrial Keyboard Production

From design to implementation

Graphically, they are created using screen printing or innovative laser engraving, with the possibility of additional surface treatments.

Piezoelectric Keyboards

The production of piezoelectric keyboards by Metatron srl serves a very wide range of applications, as these are among the products used in the industry with the most reliable technology for controlling devices and instrumentation.

The piezoelectric phenomenon is the property of certain crystalline materials to polarize, generating an electric potential difference when subjected to mechanical deformation. By harnessing this simple yet effective natural effect, Metatron Srl manufactures keyboards using piezo metallic discs with a thickness of 200µ.

The resulting keyboard can be completed with various finishes while maintaining the same touch sensation. The uniqueness of the device lies in its “capacitive” effect (adjustable) using materials ranging from wood, plastic, aluminum, to steel, with thicknesses varying from 500µ to 2000µ.

Piezoelectric keyboards find applications in the most diverse environments and can be integrated into sectors such as marine, home automation, and industry. The quality of piezoelectric keyboards ensures excellent resistance to weather conditions and up to approximately 5 million actuations.

Membrane Keyboards

Metatron Srl produces customized membrane keypads for any type of instrumentation, machinery, and devices.

Membrane keypads are manufactured using thermoforming, with features such as dome keys, metal clicks, shielding, transparent display windows, integrated SMD LEDs in the circuit, and supports made of aluminum, plexiglass, fiberglass, and polycarbonate, all produced with laser cutting and complete with fastening screws or PEMs. Metatron Srl is also able to supply aluminum supports complete with PEMs and ESD shielding, as well as EMI-RFD screens.

The production of membrane keypads follows strict quality standards, both in terms of material selection, using top-tier suppliers, and in attention to the various stages of the production process, in order to achieve a functional result that fully satisfies the customer.

All production is carried out with high-tech machinery that promotes the development and innovation of the final product.

Silicone Keyboards

When combined with metal domes or mechanical switches, silicone keyboards offer a pleasant and long-lasting tactile experience.

Available in a wide range of mechanical variations, geometric shapes, and a variety of screen-printed, painted, or laser-engraved colors.

Capacitive Keyboards

Metatron Srl produces thin and functional capacitive keyboards that allow designers freedom by eliminating unsightly protruding keys or buttons and can also be applied to curved surfaces.

The capacitive keyboards are made through a screen printing process on polyester circuits or other substrates such as paper, polycarbonate, glass, and other materials, using a layer of conductive silver nanoparticles, with thicknesses starting from 2µ.

The circuit is controlled by a controller that is configured according to the project’s specifications.

The keys do not experience issues of fading or wear since the contact is made through touch rather than pressure. The circuits are also provided as standalone units for use with the customer’s electronics.

    Keyboard Production

Metatron Srl produces silicone keyboards that can be supplied with only the silicone layer, assembled with a polyamide circuit, mounted on a PCB or assembled with metal domes like a classic membrane keyboard.

The buttons for PCB application, made with an accurate study of shape, size and air exhaust, are made of graphite and allow optimal contact. Furthermore, for perfect adhesion of the silicone on the PCB, specific double-layer adhesives are mounted, one for the silicone and one for the mounting surface.
